Oh, yes, here we go again…
It’s “Denali 1”!
I called it that because I figured I would make more versions of Mount Denali in the future… and, actually, I did– remember art piece of the week #8, “The Great One”? Yeah, that one actually came after this.
Of course, though, I took this and many other photos of Mt. Denali (aka the tallest mountain in North America) on my Alaskan adventure back in 2016, when I got to spend a whole week in the beautiful state with my brother, sister in law, and niece who was only 1 back then!
Seriously, though, I love Alaska, and I would totally just live there if I had the chance.
Maybe one day, though, you know, when I hit the bestseller book lists and also win the lottery twice so I have enough cash money to fly back and forth to the lower 48 (as the Alaskans call it) every other weekend.
Okay, but on a more serious note, guys…
Whenever people ask me what Alaska’s really like, or what stood out to me the most when I was there, I always answer like this right away…
It smells great.
Yeah, I had to put that up in quotes and everything.
Really, though, as soon as I stepped out of the airport after arriving there, I just got hit with this, like, super amazing scent. It’s really kind of hard to describe, and I’ve never smelled anything like it, but if I had to, I’d say it’s like… fresher than fresh. Pine-scented Yankee Candles times 100. Plus a lot of wetness, but like, the good kind that comes from the forests behind the Garden of Eden.
My favorite smell is Alaska.
Now, sorry, but I gotta get some more paintings of Denali going…
Please let me know what you thought/think of this beautiful piece!
