Learn how and why we, as painters, use color theory to create beautiful pictures. Follow along with the printable workbook above (hint: you can print it on any type of paper; it doesn’t matter!), or follow along with a blank sheet or two of regular paper as you watch the guided class video.

Some materials you will need to take this workshop class include:

  • One paintbrush
  • Something to mix paints with (such as paint spatulas, popsicle sticks, even a butter knife)
  • Something to mix paints on (like a palette or a paper plate)
  • A water cup and towel or napkin (for brush cleaning)
  • Acrylic paints in these colors:
    • White
    • Red
    • Blue
    • Yellow

In this workshop, you’ll get a crash course on color theory, plus you’ll learn all about primary, secondary, and tertiary/intermediate colors. And, if that all sounds foreign to you, don’t worry—it won’t for long.
