Draw and Paint a Snake Plant with a Butter Knife
Join me, fellow artists… in learning how to actually draw and paint a snake plant succulent with the use of a butter knife!
We will be using the knife to help us create the “leaves” of our snake plants, so any ol’ knife you’ve got laying around should work. You can also use a cutting knife, if you’re feeling daring (please take caution, though!).
You’ll also need a few other materials, such as:
- A cup, glass, or any item with a rounded cap
- A pencil
- A small round-head paint brush
- Something to mix paint with (you can absolutely use your knife once we’re done with the drawing portion!)
- Something to mix paint on (a palette or a paper plate)
- Construction paper, painting paper, or a canvas surface
- A water cup and towel or napkin
- Paints (acrylics) in the following colors…
- Blue (any shade)
- Yellow (any shade)
- White
And, nope–you don’t even need green paint to join in on the fun! In fact, we will be going through the process of mixing your own green hues for your plants step-by-step. We will also work on blending, shading, and highlighting with paints.
