Art Piece of the Week no.18!

Let’s see something new this week!

It’s NOT a real butterfly!

But still beautiful, I think.

This is another one of my resin pieces, made very similarly to the fish I’ve done in the past few weeks or so. Instead of putting it in a bowl, though, it’s in a shadow box, and instead of the resin looking like clear water, it looks like clear glass!

The butterfly pieces actually take less layers of paint in comparison to the fish, so that makes the process of making them go a little faster. The details in the big wings, though, are a little more complex to make.

I named this piece “Whoa.” because… well, when everyone hears it’s not a real insect inside, they go, “Whoa”!

Now, as with every other piece I’ve posted about (so far), this beautiful lil’ bug is up for sale over on my Etsy site!

AND, GET 15% OFF ANYTHING YOU ORDER THERE WITH COUPON CODE BLOG15!

I think this piece is one of my favorites. What do you think?
